£2.99 bought me a ‘grow your own tomatos’ kit earlier this year, and we’ve been repaid with several kilos of quality homegrown organic tomatos, with still over 25 tomatos yet to ripen.

Sweet and succulent and jucier than any that have been carted many miles around the country, this crop has served us well.

We kept only 5 plants but could have planted 20+ from all the seeds that germinated.

Now is a good time to sow your hardy winter crops, whilst the ground is still warm and there is a little time left for late summer sun germination.

The frosts will arrive soon so plant wisely.
