I woke to very sad news this morning, when I saw about Anita Roddicks sad death. She unfortunately died last night at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester, West Sussex.

She was the ultimate pioneer and appeals to me in 2 ways. Her undoubted entrepreneurial abilities and her passion for the environment, and equality and fair trade.

Its a sad loss and our thoughts are with those she leaves behind.

Its great to see aour council finally listen to what people want and start a curb side plastics collection.  Its the one part of recycling that was really missing.  We also now have 2 recycling boxes, so it seems like we will be moving to two monthly pickups.

Since we started recycling a few years ago we have really noticed the amount that we used to throw away, and to be frank it was shocking! It is now hugely satisfying to see how few black bags we actually put out.

For once I say bravo Swindon Borough!
