Eglu for sale!

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

I thought i’d do a little advertising for one of my good friends. I can vouch that he is a very good bloke and a very safe bet when buying from the unknown entity that is eBay.

Nath is selling a nice red little number. (see below)

Here are some details….

Red Mark II Eglu from Omlet, fully capable of housing in luxurious comfort up to three large chickens or four bantams. The run comes complete with the ‘No foxes allowed’ defence system which is an ingenious extra skirt of wire mesh so Mr. Fox cannot burrow under the wire run.

We’re selling after nearly a year of happy chicken ownership (rehomed to the local pet shop coup) because we moved house and then realised we didn’t have time to care for the chickens properly (it doesn’t take long - about 10 minutes in the morning and afternoon, but sometimes every minute really does count). The eglu & run have been living in our concrete shed for nearly 8 months and it’s time to let it go to another family who will enjoy it as much as we did.

You will receive:

  • Omlet Eglu Mark II (2) in glorious “fire engine” red (your kids will love it)
  • Extra large “winter shade” - worth £19.99 FREE
  • “Peanut” food holder
  • “Peanut” water holder
  • Fox proof run and run connection clips
  • Original screws
  • Eglu pin to keep the lid on
  • Fox-proof eglu “egg hatch” to give you easy access to pet your girls to sleep at night (they make a wonderful cooing) and collect your fresh eggs each morning
  • A lovely warm feeling inside
  • SmallHolder information pack from SmallHolder foods

So there you have it, get over to eBay and make a bid, these Eglus really are top notch!

Make sure to mention that you saw it on here!

A True Inspiration

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

What a man!

I’m referring to a story that I read today about Jim Webber, a 104 year old man who has given up gardening after 93 years without a holiday! The only sad part of the story is that he was forced to retire due to arthritis. When asked he said

I’d do about 10 minutes and have to sit down - I couldn’t carry on. That wasn’t fair for the people I was working for.”

So not only is he a hard worker, but he is an honest hard worker too! So a real man.

A truely inspirational story for anyone, young and old.

No more moaning about having to mow the lawn.

Beef Steaks and Bonsai

Sunday, April 15th, 2007

They were the highlights of this weekend.

Firstly finding the local farmers market that comes to Swindon. It was a smaller than normal, but a nice surprise non the less! Its certainly one to look out for and we will be going there each time. Especially as my other half has a real thing for the anchovy stuffed olives…..yuk. If you fancy it get down there on Sundays to see Wiltshires finest local food, we all know how important it is to support local food and keep food mileage low.

See here for moreBonsai

The other joy was re potting my bonsai Pine. He/She is now 2 1/2 years and is still basically just a seedling, but things are going really well and the roots are really well established now, so I think we are passed the initial tough period. I got the seeds in a gimmicky little box that someone got me from a book shop.

Ill try and post more as it gets bigger and more established, so keep an eye out for more updates. Anyone out there enjoy Bonsai?

The pic shows old and new homes!
