Exclamation No to Huge Pig factories

Have just received a letter from the Soil Association asking help to campaign against a dramatic escalation of pig factories in the UK.

Midland Pig Producers have submitted a planning application for an indoor pig factory in Derbyshire for 2,500 sows and c.20,000 piglets. Their libel lawyers are attempting to silence the Soil Association for raising concerns about this issue and you can read their letter asking the S.A. to withdraw their objections on the Soil Association website - Soil Association : Not in my banger. You can also read the S.A. response detailing all the scientific arguments concerning human health and pig welfare.

The Soil Association really need public support on this, and, frankly, money to fund the legal costs. If you care about the way farm animals are reared please check out the details on the website above.
