We love workign with Mike and cross referring visitors, many of you share the same interests, organics and great food and beverages of which Coffee falls into the category.

Make sure that where possible you apply the relevant tags as well, so that Mike's forum gets picked up and more people join the debate.

On the subject of SEO and web marketing, do any of you have any experience of article marketing?

I write articles from time to time, upload them to our website then wait for them to be indexed.

Once they are indexed I then submit them to http://ezinearticles.com/ and http://www.goarticles.com/ (there are loads more but I just don't have time), put optimised links in the sig and wait for them to be published.

We don't actually get that many people publishing them. I suspect it is to do with my tone of writing - I can do SEO copywriting but I tend to be a bit formal to be entertaining enough for blogs etc - more than anything.

I know at my old company people who had a friendlier, more relaxed type of article writing style tended to get much greater exposure.

I hope that helps.

Default Article Marketing

Thanks Alexandra.

I started publishing on EzineArticles in January. It has been interesting, and I quite like the idea that your articles continue to generate traffic long after you've written them.

On a slightly separate note, does anyone know if writing keywords in bold is actually picked up by search engine spiders?

In my opinion there may be a small effect from being bold but if it is of any detriment to reader experience then it isn't worth it.

Whilst it isn't something I have actually played around with that much, I think if it had much weighting to it then everyone and their e-neighbour would be doing it.

I do, however, use keyphrases in my H tags because this is said to help, especially the H1, and I suppose this is in effect showing Google that this part of the page is of particular importance as it is a heading.

Perhaps bold works in a similar fashion? Not sure.

Yes, your H1 wants to be the main heading on your page. You can then use H2 through to H6 to denote ever smaller headings, though in reality I don't usually use anything but H1 and H2.

However, I am really not that technical so I am sure there is more to this that a techie can add :)

You might find HTML h1 to h6 tag helpful for further info.

Think of them like the contents page of a book with the most important chapters in big bold (h1) down to the sub sub sub headings (h6)
