I like the user interface of wicycle, which is far better and more user friendly than freecycle. Freecycle is simply a list based system and you end up with a lot of messages to filter through every day, which makes it far less useful.
I'd like to see a Freecycle system that works much in the same way as eBay so that you can search for things a lot quicker and more efficiently. Wicycle-it seems to be more of the eBay model rather than Freecycle, i.e. buying and selling rather than giving away. Because of that it is going to struggle against the far bigger and more powerful eBay. Like eBid, auction prices will probably end up lower, so it will discourage sellers. Make it a competitor for Freecycle instead, by offering a far more user friendly experience, and Wicycle-It could become a success story though. It could generate money through Google adwords and other online advertising and would attract people who are fed up of working through all the Freecycle lists. I'd use it like a shot! |
